Nervous System Communication And Garden Hoses
How is nervous system communication like a garden hose?
Our 3-year-old daughter as of late has really taken the initiative to water our three rose bushes in the mornings. My wife says that she wants to do it every morning when she wakes up.
I remember back to when I planted the third of our three bushes a little while ago, my daughter helped me and we talked about watering it together when we put it in the ground. I let her hold the hose while I turned the knob so the water would run through. She was giggling because she was so excited to take part in this. After a second, she asked me, “Where’s the water, Daddy?” I realized that I was standing on the hose thus blocking the water flow from coming out. I took my foot off and the water came out of the hose and into the soil. My daughter laughed and sprayed all around the roses. She may have gotten a little wild with her technique. She got the roses nice and wet as well as the sidewalk and the rear wheels of a car that was parked right next to us.
Nervous System Communication Illustrated
This reminded me of a simple illustration I remember from chiropractic school that applies to your spine and nervous system. The nervous system communicates from the brain to the body through your spinal cord and spinal nerves. When there is a misalignment of the spine and pressure is placed on the nerves, the efficiency of the communication system goes down. It is like the garden hose being stepped on and not allowing the water to flow through it. The best solution to this problem in your body is an adjustment to allow for better alignment of the spine and pressure to be taken off the nerves. This allows your body to be at ease and function the way it was intended to. Make sure you get checked today to keep your spine and nervous system flowing at its best!!
